  • Serve Guests: Serve guests in a professional and positive manner, including taking food and beverage orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring exceptional dining experiences.
  • Utilize Steps of Service: Utilize JINYA's steps of service, up-selling techniques, and proper menu knowledge to guide guests to daily specials, ensure dietary needs, and delight our guests with our unique offering of ramen and tapas.
  • Greet Guests: Greet guests as they arrive, ensuring proper seating arrangements and reservations check-in or providing a proper wait-list time, if necessary.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and concisely in a positive and professional manner with guests and team members, both front and back of the house operations.
  • Ensure Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness of service station, including any area visible to guests upon seating.
  • Support Team Members: Support team members in front of house operations, such as refilling beverages, organizing table arrangements, table maintenance, polishing plates or glasses, resetting tables or other necessary items as requested or needed.
  • Respond to Guest Concerns: Respond to minor guest complaints, and alerting management of any major or critical guest or service concerns.
  • Know Restaurant Information: Know restaurant information, such as hours of operations, menu, allergies, table numbers, payment options, and any relevant information to the operations of the restaurant.
  • Promote Core Values: Promote and execute JINYA's core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity, and Integrity.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years server experience, preferably in a high-volume atmosphere.
  • Skills: Outstanding and professional verbal and written skills; with strong ability to multi-task.
  • Attitude: Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Education: Be able to write and speak English.
  • Certifications: Must have appropriate city, state, and federal certifications according to location of restaurant, including alcohol and food handling certificates.
