Job Title: Registered Nurse 1E Medical Surgical 7P

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Registered Nurse on our 1E Medical Surgical unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to patients on the 1E Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform various procedures, such as inserting IV lines, administering medications, and performing wound care.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care and coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of West Virginia or a compact state.
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
