Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients
  • Work with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examination and explain procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and security protocols
Requirements
  • Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program or at least two years in Allied Health Educational Program and one year on-the-job training in ultrasonography
  • Eligibility for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
