Job Summary

Naturpak is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our dynamic production team in Janesville, WI. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food products in alignment with production schedules and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food products according to standardized recipes and production schedules, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality, including texture and appearance. Collaborate with the Quality Controller to inspect ingredients and finished products to maintain consistency and meet specifications.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain Kettle Room equipment, including kettles, pumps, and blanchers. Collaborate with Quality Control on equipment inspections and report any malfunctions to Maintenance and the Production Supervisor.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal food safety regulations and guidelines. Participate in regular training and audits as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Kettle Room staff, including Assistant Cooks and Quality Controllers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Communicate effectively to address any issues or concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of food preparation, production processes, and any deviations from standard procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Cook or Assistant Cook, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial kitchen environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, safety standards, and sanitation practices. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with large-scale food production and industrial kitchen equipment is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
