Location Overview:
The Pittsburgh Marriott North is a premier full-service hotel located in a vibrant business park, featuring newly renovated accommodations and facilities designed to impress both guests and staff. Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee, guide, assist, and ensure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants and Housepersons, maintaining the high standards of cleanliness upheld by Pyramid Hotel Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual inspections of VIP rooms, guest accommodations, and corridors to ensure cleanliness and presentation.
  • Train and evaluate the performance of room attendants and housepersons, providing organization, instruction, and constructive feedback while reinforcing quality standards.
  • Prepare performance reports for all personnel in the assigned area and submit them to the Executive Housekeeper, ensuring all tasks are completed within the designated shift.
  • Take inventory of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of carts and linen/supply closets according to departmental guidelines, ensuring all VIP supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Report maintenance issues in guest rooms and corridors through work orders, and communicate urgent matters to the maintenance department.
  • Facilitate special guest requests, such as additional towels, blankets, or pillows.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to the essential functions, this role may require performing various supportive tasks, with the percentage of time allocated to each determined by the supervisor based on hotel needs.

  • Assist room attendants and housepersons in obtaining necessary supplies and tools for their tasks as required.
  • Report any suspicious activities or hazardous conditions to the Security Department.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, providing assistance, directions, and information as needed.
  • Offer guidance for guest and employee safety during emergencies.

Additional duties may be assigned, including assisting Room Attendants when necessary.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and abilities and demonstrate the capability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, and walk continuously, climb stairs, and maneuver heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English to complete forms and address guest needs.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and guidance to team members.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Judgment to oversee the performance of subordinates effectively.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable. A high school education is preferred. A minimum of six months of supervisory experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience is required.

Note: The hotel operates seven days a week and twenty-four hours a day. All employees, both management and hourly, must be aware that it may be necessary to adjust shifts based on business demands.
