Position Summary:
The Flooring Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of a medium-sized flooring warehouse.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and stage daily assignments; manage material preparation for jobs; receive and accurately store inventory, ensuring proper labeling.
- Input work orders, status updates, shipping/receiving confirmations, and material returns into the company inventory management system.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels to maintain accuracy.
- Efficiently process incoming freight shipments.
- Conduct monthly inventory audits, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Supervise and mentor staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including the surrounding areas.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; one to two years of relevant experience in warehouse operations and management, or a combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and understand basic instructions, shipping documents, and material guidelines. Proficient in writing correspondence and preparing necessary documents.
- Mathematical Skills: Capable of performing basic arithmetic operations and geometric calculations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and address problems with a few concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with computer workstations and software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, email, and word processing.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Vision: Ability to see documents and read handwritten materials; must have good near vision.
- Physical Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain personal car insurance; ability to lift and carry at least 75 lbs.
Employment Conditions:

Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this position include regular sitting, reaching, seeing, talking, and hearing. Frequent use of hands for handling materials is necessary. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and perform tasks that require climbing, bending, and pushing/pulling heavy items.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically quiet but may become noisy due to machinery operation. Employees may encounter moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to dust and fumes.
