Position Overview:
The role of a Practical Nursing Specialist is vital in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Compensation:
$24.570 per hour

Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patient behaviors, symptoms, and responses to treatments and medications.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and requests, ensuring their comfort and care.
- Prepare and administer therapeutic interventions, including rehabilitation activities and wound care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in medical records.
- Collect laboratory specimens as required.
- Administer medications, ensuring precise documentation of administration times and dosages; recognize and respond to any adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective nursing care plans.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to patient care strategies.
- Review and evaluate patient care documentation, reporting findings to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare patients for various medical examinations and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee direct care staff, providing training and educational support as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Comprehensive understanding of licensed practical nursing principles and practices.
- Proficient in patient care techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and supplies.

Core Competencies:
- Ability to assess nursing needs and exercise sound judgment in patient care.
- Evaluate patient behaviors and medication effects effectively.
- Plan and supervise the work of direct care staff.
- Communicate clearly and positively with patients and team members.
- Maintain detailed records and reports with accuracy.
- Exhibit a compassionate and supportive demeanor towards patients.

Work Requirements:
- A minimum commitment of 32 hours per month is necessary to maintain eligibility for the on-call pool.
