Job Summary:

Christie Clinic's Hematology-Oncology department is seeking a PRN (as needed & non-benefit eligible) RN - Chemotherapy to deliver care to cancer patients between Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements. The role will provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following standards and practices, safely administer chemotherapeutic agents within a chemotherapy suite, and professional case management of oral chemotherapy patient population.

Responsibilities:

Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
Administer IV's for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU's

Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
