About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Pathologist/Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team at Ventura County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering speech pathology treatment programs for the rehabilitation of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and administer appropriate tests and measurements for communication disorders;
  • Plan and administer speech and language treatment;
  • Communicate with physicians, other health personnel, and community agencies in matters related to speech and language pathology and treatment progress;
  • Participate with other rehabilitation team members in remediation planning;
  • Evaluate patients referred for therapy, provide patient and family education, and develop home treatment programs;
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university or qualifications deemed equivalent by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board (SLPAB);
  • Two years of speech therapy experience or successful completion of an internship program with the hiring department and one year of experience as a Speech Therapist;
  • A valid California State License in Speech Pathology or licensure in another state with a temporary California license issued from the SLPAB and eligibility for a valid California Speech Pathology License within the probationary period;
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA);
  • A valid California driver license and proof of auto insurance;
