Law Librarian

We are seeking an experienced law librarian to join our team at the New York State Senate. As a law librarian, you will play a critical role in providing reference services to legislators, staff, and the public.

• Provide professional library services by performing legislative reference work, including providing legal research assistance to legislators and staff, utilizing the library's print and electronic resources.
• Assist library visitors on a ready reference basis by locating materials, answering questions, and assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of library materials.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

• A master's degree in library science or information science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.
• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills.
• The flexibility and willingness to learn in a changing environment.

• Experience on law library or library information center with a significant legal collection.
• A law degree from an accredited law school.
• Familiarity with Westlaw, Lexis, and HeinOnline.
