About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Lanai City Bar & Grill. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a positive experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  • Assist culinary staff with food preparation and plating as needed.
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and safe, including mopping floors, taking out the trash, and cleaning equipment.
  • Properly store all operating equipment and kitchen utensils at the end of each shift.
  • Perform side jobs as assigned, including cleaning of walk-ins and reach-in stoves.
  • Ensure that dry storage area is swept and mopped daily per shift.
  • Ensure that spice racks and bulk food storage containers and lids are kept in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Fills paper towel and soap dispensers daily per Hawaii Health Code.
  • Maintains equipment per prescribed standards.
Requirements
  • Previous training and/or experience as a steward, preferred.
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with employees.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
  • The employee is required to operate objects, tools, or controls.
