We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Inpatient Cellular Therapy Service at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive direct patient care management and exercising autonomous decision-making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Take patient history, conduct examinations, and diagnose illness
- Evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests, and exercise autonomy in medical decision-making
- Provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, including educational, research, and clinical support
- Manage a caseload of patients and work collaboratively with the APP team, attending, fellow, and pharmacist to manage inpatients on the service
- Master's of Science in Nursing (for Nurse Practitioners) or completion of an accredited physician assistant educational program (for Physician Assistants)
- Current and/or eligibility for State of Illinois RN and APN licensure/registration (for Nurse Practitioners) or certification in ACLS and by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and current and/or eligibility for State of Illinois licensure/registration (for Physician Assistants)
- At least 1 year of inpatient nursing experience (for Nurse Practitioners) or inpatient experience (for Physician Assistants)
- Previous oncology experience preferred
