Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced prosecutor to join our team at Bannock County. As a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, you will be responsible for prosecuting felony cases, assisting the County Attorney with legal and administrative work, and performing related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and managing felony cases for trial, making charging decisions, negotiating case settlements, and representing the County's interest in court.

In addition to your legal expertise, you will also be responsible for supervising Legal Secretaries/Assistants, performing administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records. • Prepare and manage felony cases for trial, including initiating complaints, conducting research, and preparing legal documents
• Make charging decisions based on police reports and applicable law
• Negotiate case settlements and represent the County's interest in court
• Supervise Legal Secretaries/Assistants and perform administrative tasks
• Maintain accurate records and perform other related duties as required

• Graduation from a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctorate Degree
• License to practice law in the State of Idaho or willingness to seek reciprocal admission/pass Idaho State Bar exam
• Membership in good standing in the Idaho State Bar Association

The work is performed under the general supervision of the County Prosecutor and direct supervision of an Assistant Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
