Role Summary

As a Yard Equipment Operator, you will be essential in ensuring that Landscapers Supply operates efficiently to meet customer needs. Your primary responsibilities will include loading landscape materials such as mulch and stone into customer vehicles and trailers, as well as assisting our Drivers with loading delivery trucks. Safety is paramount in this role, as you will be working with heavy machinery in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery including wheel loaders and skid steers to load trucks and trailers.
  • Utilize forklifts to unload incoming supplier deliveries.
  • Hand load customer vehicles with various landscape materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the yard.
  • Check in deliveries of bulk landscape supplies.
  • Assist in moving or loading large store items for customers.
  • Provide propane filling services to customers, if of legal age.
  • Support management with special requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to engage in positive interactions with customers.
  • Clear communication skills with colleagues, both in person and via radio.
  • Capability to work steadily and safely in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery such as wheel loaders.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and manage loads up to 70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
