Position Overview: The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients in an outpatient setting. This position is dedicated to ensuring patient safety and providing exceptional care in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold patient safety at all times.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and accurately document any changes in patient status.
  • Implement the established care plan and consult with the supervising therapist regarding any necessary adjustments or assessments.
  • Administer effective therapeutic interventions that facilitate patient progress towards their rehabilitation goals, ensuring all treatments are documented in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental meetings during scheduled hours and review meeting minutes when absent. Attend in-service training sessions conducted by colleagues and students.
  • Address therapy-related inquiries promptly.
  • Collaborate with the team to review daily assignments and schedules.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and staff about therapy services tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by meeting scheduling demands, achieving productivity targets, and utilizing resources efficiently.
  • Prepare and review the upcoming day's schedule.
  • Process charges that align with the services rendered and documented treatment durations.
  • Possess a degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Maintain a current license in Florida.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have basic computer proficiency or a willingness to learn.
  • Hold a valid AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to employment and maintain it.
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
  • Assist in lifting, standing, and supporting patients as needed.
