Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, assess, and cultivate commercial insurance prospects with both new and existing clients through various communication channels including in-person meetings, online interactions, phone calls, and written correspondence.
  • Build and sustain exceptional relationships with clients and prospects through consistent follow-ups, prompt and accurate quotations, and comprehensive account support. Proactively address and respond to all client inquiries.
  • Engage in networking and strategic planning to identify new clients and business opportunities.
  • Track, analyze, and report on essential metrics to ensure sales objectives are met, while documenting sales activities efficiently and professionally.
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor junior staff, provide insights and answers to inquiries, and participate in both formal and informal meetings as necessary.
  • Assist clients in preparation for renewals and retention, ensuring robust client relationships are maintained.
  • Stay current with continuing education requirements and industry developments, including new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to enhance knowledge and performance.
Qualifications
  • Possess the necessary insurance license as mandated by state regulations, along with a minimum of two years of experience in personal and commercial lines insurance account management, or equivalent work experience complemented by a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of insurance products, rating and underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry practices to effectively secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record in business-to-business sales, with strong skills in presentation, persuasion, and negotiation, along with the ability to close sales effectively.
  • Be client-oriented, customer-focused, and assertive in establishing new client relationships and servicing current clients.
  • Possess excellent organizational abilities, capable of completing complex tasks independently, with sound business judgment, strong decision-making skills, and superior written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Exhibit exceptional time management skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate proficiency in technology and computer systems, including agency management software.
