About the Role

The Occupational Therapist will report directly to the Clinical Manager and/or Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM) of their respective department, receiving clinical guidance from senior staff and/or clinical specialists as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive examinations of body structure to determine functional impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions.
  • Establish diagnosis and prognosis; develop an individualized plan of care; implement treatment interventions; and perform ongoing evaluations throughout the episode of care.
Core Competencies
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and professionalism with patients, caregivers, rehabilitation staff, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Exhibit effective and professional verbal and non-verbal communication, clearly conveying information respectfully and honestly with patients and colleagues.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required. A Master's or Doctorate-level degree is preferred.
  • A state license issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health is mandatory.
  • New graduates are considered, while clinical experience in program-specific settings is preferred.
Working Environment

The Occupational Therapist will work independently within the department's policies and practices, referring specific complex problems to ACM and/or Clinical Manager when clarification of departmental policies and procedures is required.

Professional Development

The successful candidate will be encouraged to set goals for professional development, with membership and involvement in discipline-specific professional organizations strongly recommended.
