Physical Demands:
- Physical requirements are closely tied to the essential functions of this role. To fulfill these responsibilities, the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, bend, kneel, communicate, hear, and smell is necessary.
- Must be capable of lifting or exerting force up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Visual acuity is required, including close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen when looking straight ahead), depth perception (three-dimensional vision), and the ability to adjust focus.
Cognitive Requirements:
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific, clinical, or business literature, financial reports, or legal documents. Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory bodies, staff, and community members.
- Ability to write compelling correspondence, speeches, and articles for publication.
- Capable of effectively presenting information to senior management, large public audiences, and boards of directors.
- Must possess the ability to perform advanced mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), including calculating percentages, averages, volume, ratios, and interpreting graphs using numbers, currency, and units of measurement.
- Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to manage both concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal, and written instructions.
Age Groups:
- This position involves interaction with all age groups, providing direct patient care. All staff members must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of individuals in their assigned work area.
Additional Information
Minimum Qualifications:
- A current RN license in South Carolina is mandatory.
- PALS and ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
- Experience in Critical Care is preferred.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize responsibilities to effectively meet patient care needs.
- Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate action.
