Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Student Transportation of America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on large commercial vehicles.

• Perform thorough and accurate preventative maintenance inspections to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
• Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation, in accordance with OEM and industry standards.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, working closely with the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
• Diagnose and repair complex issues with engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, and exhaust systems, using technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform emergency roadside services as needed, providing timely and effective assistance to our drivers and passengers.
• Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects, documenting repairs and parts on work orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
• Perform other duties as required, including driving company vehicles for road tests and inspections.

• 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic, with a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Accreditation from a school or certification program, such as ASE certification.
• Ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.
