Instructor, CC

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor, CC to join our team at the University of Hawaii. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

The Instructor, CC will provide academic counseling and guidance to students in all Kaua'i CC programs, with a focus on liberal arts and natural science pathways. This position requires a strong understanding of student development theories and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Provide academic counseling and guidance to students, including career planning and transfer pathways information.
• Develop and implement effective strategies to support student success, including outreach and retention activities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and evaluate academic programs and services.
• Participate in registration, student orientation, and other onboarding activities.
• Serve as a liaison to DOE high schools and the Language, Arts, Humanities (LAH) and Science and Mathematics (SAM) division.
• Provide consultation and feedback on the development of academic pathways and program course scheduling.
• Assist students with referrals to college services and community agencies or services.

• Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources, or related field.
• Three years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

• Experience in a community college setting with liberal arts and transfer programs.
• Knowledge of student information systems and experience with Banner or other SIS software.
• Experience organizing transfer events and workshops.
