Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric LPN/CMA to join our team. As a Pediatric LPN/CMA, you will be responsible for administering nursing care to patients in our medical office, under the direction of our physicians and advanced clinical providers. Your duties will include preparing patients for examinations, administering injections and medications, and maintaining accurate records in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for and assists with examinations
  • Administers injections and medications, dresses wounds and incisions, and provides accurate information to patients
  • Maintains accurate records in the EMR system
  • Performs daily counts and reconciliations
  • Ensures EMR accuracy with records of the NCIR for every visit
  • Unload and stock newly received vaccines and register them according to the NCIR
  • Collects patient data and maintains records of vital statistics and physiological/biological information in the EMR system
  • Applies standardized check-in components in daily workflow
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies and medications
  • Orders supplies as needed for the department
  • Conducts specified laboratory tests as needed
  • Administers nebulized breathing treatments
  • Acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties, and communicates with insurance companies
  • Completes required school/sport/day care forms
  • Communicates with managed care for prior authorizations
  • Schedules procedures on campus and off site
  • Responds to/triages patient phone calls and messages as appropriate
  • Educates and instructs patients and their family members on any medications, treatment plans, etc.
Requirements
  • Active NC or Compact LPN License
  • Successfully completed and passed an accredited Practical Nursing Program
  • BLS/CPR Certification
  • 8-8 weekdays and 8-5 weekends on rotation and per manager discretion subject to change
  • Weekend rotations and holiday shifts required
  • Full-time availability
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year clinical experience
  • Phlebotomy experience
Physical Demands

The Pediatric LPN/CMA will be required to stand continuously, sit frequently, walk continuously, kneel/crouch rarely, lift rarely, and perform other physical demands as necessary.

The Pediatric LPN/CMA will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, interacting with patients, staff, and physicians. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and professionally, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
