About the Role

BHSN, a leading provider of whole person care, is seeking passionate individuals to join our rapidly growing team as Employment Specialists - Mental Health. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of adults with mental illness participating in the PROS program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group rehabilitation interventions designed to teach skills and offer support to adults with mental illness.
  • Develop and implement interventions aimed at supporting employment and developing readiness, in either group or individual modalities, as directed by PROS supervisory staff.
  • Provide engaging interventions for individual recipients both at the program site and/or within the community as appropriate.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate and timely records of service interventions in accordance with regulatory and Agency requirements.
  • Provide safe transport to recipients as directed.
  • Provide needed services in such a manner as to ensure quality, outcomes and billing compliance.
Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in mental health or rehabilitation environment preferred.
  • AA/AS degree or BA/BS degree in a human services related field essential.
  • CPR certification or training preferred.
  • Prior experience in mental health or rehabilitation environment preferred.
  • Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Thorough understanding of OMH PROS regulations and guidance especially in the area of ORS service provision and billing.
  • Evening and/or weekend hours may be required to meet the needs of program consumers; local travel possible.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and move around as necessary to provide services in a variety of program settings, i.e. indoors, outdoors, off-site.
