Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Position

City of Hutchinson seeks a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join their team.

This is a technical role in the operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and collection system, including lift stations.

Duties:

  • Use of SCADA systems for wastewater treatment and collection systems.
  • Performing safe work alone, with peers, and crews to oversee wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance.
  • City snow removal and other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related work experience or completion of an accredited technical program in Water and/or Wastewater operations and maintenance.
  • One year of industry-related work experience.
  • Class D Wastewater and Class D Water Operator Certificates or ability to obtain within 18 months.
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with little supervision.
