Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider to become a vital member of our esteemed Cardiac Electrophysiology team. This team comprises a collaborative group of 8 Physicians, 6 Advanced Practice Providers, and a team of proficient nurses. The role primarily involves working in an outpatient environment, with no weekend or night shifts required. Our Electrophysiology team operates in a cooperative care model alongside our physician colleagues to deliver exceptional cardiac care. Candidates with prior experience in cardiac settings are preferred, although it is not mandatory. A comprehensive training and mentorship program will be provided as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an advanced practitioner to coordinate comprehensive care delivery, including writing orders and prescriptions for standard medications, laboratory tests, and consultations.
  • Conduct patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate the educational needs of patients and their families, and develop tailored teaching strategies and programs.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, collaborating across disciplines to meet patient needs.
  • Engage in effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare team members, providing consultation in areas of expertise.
  • Assist with and perform designated medical procedures.
  • Document all relevant information in medical records accurately.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and evaluation of services, measuring outcomes and recommending improvements to enhance patient care quality.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
  • Licenses: Physician Assistant (PHYS ASST), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as applicable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a collaborative role.
  • Licenses: Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
  • Occasional pushing and pulling forces required.
