Job Summary

This position performs mammography radiographic procedures to detect abnormalities, make diagnoses, and treat patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for exams, explains procedures, and administers contrast when necessary.
  • Positions patients for exams, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of images.
  • Enters and monitors patient data, performs quality assurance on mammography equipment, and assists with accreditation applications.
  • Identifies and reports accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, and promotes individual professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or approved program of mammography technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board, and registered Radiology Technologist and Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
