Job Summary

The advisor will guide patients through the application procedures and ensure timely completion of necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze daily patient lists to identify individuals in need of financial interviews.
  • Conduct interviews to gather essential demographic and financial data, obtaining necessary signatures on forms.
  • Evaluate medical and financial records to establish the best course of action for securing sponsorship for patients.
  • Facilitate referrals to state agencies for Medicaid applications and initiate applications on behalf of patients.
  • Maintain communication with patients via phone and written correspondence to ensure application completion within required timelines.
  • Follow up with state agencies to confirm that all necessary documentation is submitted for application processing.
  • Issue Letters of Determination for patients seeking indigent health care funds and charity support.
  • Represent patients at local and state hearings regarding denied Medicaid or Social Security disability applications.
  • Coordinate transportation services for patients in need, scheduling pickups as required.
  • Verify information on all accounts under review for indigent health funds or charity eligibility.
Physical Requirements

This position operates in a dynamic office environment with frequent interruptions. Some travel may be necessary to represent patients at appeal hearings.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of four years of relevant experience is required.
