Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled writer and editor with a strong background in health and wellness to join our esteemed beauty and wellness team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing approximately four original articles weekly, adeptly managing multiple projects at different stages of development, including assigning stories, fact-checking, researching, and editing drafts.

You will be tasked with writing, assigning, and editing timely content, possessing a solid understanding of scientific literacy and the essential elements required to create accurate and engaging articles on trending health topics, encompassing all facets of physical and mental wellness.

Team Dynamics

This role reports to the Global Beauty & Wellness Director based in London and will have a worldwide impact through our global syndication network, collaborating closely with wellness editors in various markets to ensure stories resonate both globally and locally.

In the UK, this position will support the digital strategy for the wellness section of our platform, working alongside the Global Beauty & Wellness Director and the British Digital Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily schedule for the beauty & wellness digital content.
  • Editing and publishing articles for the beauty & wellness section.
  • Generating ideas and writing about the latest trends in health and wellness, including both in-depth and short-form content.
  • Commissioning diverse voices and writers in the health and wellness sector, with a keen ability to identify the right contributors for each story.
  • Expanding the franchise by leading initiatives focused on female wellness.
  • Managing and editing online wellness syndications from our global network, ensuring all content aligns with our style guide and tone.
  • Contributing ideas and writing for print as needed.
  • Providing daily support to the beauty and wellness team.
  • Participating in cross-department initiatives, such as social content or supporting events when available.

Candidate Profile

  • An experienced editor with a proven track record in commissioning and editing both long and short-form editorial content.
  • Strong connections and relationships within the wellness industry.
  • A creative thinker with a talent for idea generation and execution.
  • A confident editor capable of maintaining and adapting to our tone of voice.
  • Experience in health-focused literacy and a comprehensive understanding of health reporting best practices, including fact-checking.
  • A sharp eye for timely and thought-provoking stories that resonate with our audience.
  • Ability to produce clean, accurate, and engaging copy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and freelance contributors.

Work Environment
