About the Role

As a Lead Clerk at WinCo Foods, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our grocery department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist management in overseeing the daily activities of the store, focusing on providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude and work ethic, and assist department managers in general department operations as directed.
  • Operations: Assist with the performance of clerk duties in the designated department, including grocery or freight operations, and ensure all customers receive fast, friendly service.
  • Team Support: Assist assigned employees in the performance of their tasks, including notifying them of their breaks and lunches, and provide guidance and leadership as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that shelves are fully stocked and merchandise is rotated regularly.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the cleaning of equipment, displays, and storage areas.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment, with a focus on leadership and team management.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and move rapidly, with the ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds.
