Job Title: Ombuds

Phillips Academy is seeking a highly skilled Ombuds to provide confidential, independent, and impartial support to faculty, staff, and administrators. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted resource, helping to resolve conflicts, address systemic concerns, and foster a culture of respect and civility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation and support to employees navigating complex relationships, policies, and work environments.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing systemic concerns that impact the mission and goals of the Academy.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Academy's policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and General Counsel to ensure effective conflict resolution and support.
  • Engage in mediation, facilitation, and restorative practices to resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Master's or advanced degree required.
  • At least five years of professional experience in conflict resolution, Ombuds work, or a related field.
  • Expertise in conflict resolution, mediation, and restorative practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A thorough understanding of the International Ombuds Association's professional code of ethics and standards of practice.
What We Offer:

A part-time, 12-month position with a competitive hourly rate. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, both on campus and remotely.
