MRI Technologist Outpatient Radiology Garden City Part Time

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping our radiologists interpret images and make accurate diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of specific body areas, ensuring high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Prepare and position patients properly, providing clear instructions and ensuring patient safety.
- Enter exam coding accurately in the Radiology Information System and complete exams in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, reporting any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum, working with them to perform exams and evaluate images.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. You must also hold a New York State Radiologic Technologist License or Temp Permit and have Advanced Certification in MRI from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 180 days of hire or transfer. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills are essential, as well as basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Radiology or a related health field, with 2+ years of MRI technologist experience or training. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $54.56 hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
