We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Nurse to join our team at Highmark Inc. as a Critical Care Specialist. As a Flight Nurse, you will be responsible for providing critical care to patients in emergency situations, utilizing your expertise in emergency medicine and critical care nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for the patient and the onset of transferred care to the final disposition in the transport environment.
- Demonstrate clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
- Provide safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including EMS, for the plan of care from presentation through disposition.
- Monitor the safety of self and others working in and around the aircraft.
- Participate in quality assurance programs such as chart audits and case reviews.
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Minimum five (5) years recent Emergency/ICU Registered Nurse experience within a level 1 or level 2 trauma center or tertiary center.
- OR FP-C with 4 years (8320 hours) flight paramedic experience and 1 year (2080 hours) of RN ICU experience at an ICU designated acceptable by the LifeFlight Medical Director.
- ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification all three required upon application.
- Must meet height and weight restrictions upon application.
- PA PHRN or PA EMT-P or NREMt-P certification required within 1 year of hire.
- CFRN Certification is required within 1 year of successful completion of the orientation program.
- At least one of the following advanced certifications: CEN or CCRN or CTRN or TCRN.
- NRP or PHTLS or ITLS.
