Job Summary

As a Mission Assurance Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our programs by defining and monitoring mission assurance program specifications and processes. You will perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability, and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement mission assurance program plans and specifications to ensure program success.
  • Review and assess program performance and risks, and determine resources to ensure mission assurance.
  • Provide primary mission assurance interface to program offices and customers for mission assurance matters.
  • Support proposal commitment reviews meetings, customer requests for information, and negotiations.
  • Review contracts for quality assurance requirements and develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance program plans and program quality requirements.
  • Lead program corrective action board meetings, material review board meetings, and other program-specific mission assurance-related meetings.
  • Monitor program quality metrics and implement return to green plans when required.
  • Perform cost account manager duties for mission assurance tasks on programs, including EVMS reporting and estimate at completion updates.
  • Provide inputs to internal and external program management review packages and brief subject matter as required.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of program CDRLs assigned to mission assurance.
  • Provide inputs on quality performance for contractor performance assessment reports.
  • Actively participate in program risk and opportunity management board meetings.
  • Conduct process audits on programs to ensure program success.
  • Represent mission assurance at various program reviews and review boards.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in engineering and 9 years of experience or MS with 7 years of experience or PhD with 4 years of experience.
  • Experience with quality engineering, inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test and evaluation, reliability, defect analysis, and control of nonconforming material.
  • A basic knowledge of interpreting customer contractual, technical, and MA requirements and ensuring these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management system certification process.
  • Knowledge of MRB standards.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis tools such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Costpoint and TipQA experience.
  • Proficient with AS9102 and AS9103 aerospace standards.
  • CAM/earned value certification.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
