About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transportation Designer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. As a key member of our transportation service team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of plans and cost estimates for projects of various size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a key member of a roadway design team under the direction of various project engineers/managers.
  • Lead the preparation of various roadway design elements using local and/or AASHTO standards, including horizontal and vertical alignments; plan and profile; utility design and relocation; streetscape and roadway improvements; bicycle and pedestrian facilities; signing, striping, and signalization.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Produce high-quality work and perform quality assurance checks.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and support services.
  • Identify applicable codes, standards, or other design requirements.
  • Supervise the work of less experienced technical support personnel.
  • Mentor and train technical support personnel.
  • Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  • Lead by example, displaying solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in roadway design.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Technical degree or certification in Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Expert in Autodesk Civil3D and Bluebeam.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
