Job Summary

GAI Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Protection and Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing protection and controls systems for substation-related projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and implement protection and controls systems for substation-related projects, including detailed design for high voltage substation projects up to 500kV.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers, as well as mentorship and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including CAD operators, to develop organized quality CAD drawings and integrate protection and control drawings with physical layout and design of substations.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, project stakeholders, and team members to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in protection and controls engineering design, with a focus on substation-related projects.
  • Certifications: EIT certification and a valid driver's license.
