Position Summary
ExacTech Inc. is seeking skilled Steel Fitters for both 1st and 2nd shifts. As integral members of our heavy fabrication team, you will be responsible for the precise layout and assembly of metal components to create structural steel frameworks. We are committed to providing comprehensive in-house training to support your professional growth.
Shift Details
- 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:45 AM - 3:15 PM; Friday 6:45 AM - 10:45 AM (1/2 day Fridays)
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (enjoy a 3-day weekend)
Key Responsibilities
- Layout, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to construct structural forms.
- Assemble metal parts to produce finished sheet and structural metal projects.
- Utilize tools such as jacks, pry bars, hammers, saws, welding equipment, torches, and grinders.
- Operate handheld torches and plasma cutters effectively.
- Position, fit, and align components accurately.
- Interpret welding blueprints and measure workpieces according to specifications.
- Employ overhead cranes and jib cranes as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to use a tape measure and convert measurements into decimals.
- Capable of following both verbal and written instructions.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
