LEAD Staffing is seeking experienced Pipe Fitters for a major international defense contractor in the San Diego area.
Key Responsibilities- Marine Piping Systems Installation and Repair
- Remove, repair, target, lay out, fabricate, and test marine piping systems, including auxiliary salt water, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel, oil, and engine exhaust systems, in accordance with NAVSEA/Military standards and drawings.
- Run lines and leads required to accomplish work and perform drop tests for flammable or oxygen-depleting gases.
- Pipe Fabrication and Repair
- Use various shop equipment, such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines (power and hand), drill presses, and brazing equipment, to repair and fabricate pipes.
- Pass a blueprint test and brazing test to demonstrate proficiency.
- Qualifications and Requirements
- Read and interpret marine blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of ship repair terminology and ship compartment.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of equipment and work processes used in marine pipe fabrication, repair, and targeting.
