PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Technician S and W to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Instrumentation and Control Technician S and W to work on plant control systems, including turbine control computers, plant computers, and computer monitoring systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation and control, with experience in calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.


Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance of plant control systems, including turbine control computers, plant computers, and computer monitoring systems.
  • Test and maintain computer software to ensure correct and reliable operation of control systems.
  • Test, repair, and calibrate scrubber automatic control and monitoring equipment, stack flue gas monitoring systems, and other monitoring equipment to comply with environmental standards.
  • Test, repair, and calibrate water analyzing and treatment instrumentation to ensure accurate control of plant chemistry.
  • Test, repair, and calibrate other plant instruments and controls, including coal mill fire protection systems, transmitters, and heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Instruct and train apprentices in maintenance of plant instrumentation and control systems.
  • Keep records of daily work, preventative maintenance, equipment maintenance, and instrument calibration.
  • Study reference manuals, process control diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to research maintenance problems and prepare requisitions for replacement parts.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Mathematics: Algebra & Trig 10 semester hours/15 quarter hours.
  • Electricity: 10 semester hours/15 quarter hours (DC & AC Fundamentals).
  • Instrumentation Measurement: 18 semester hours.
  • Electronics: Solid State, Computer Basics 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours.
  • At least 3 years of Instrument and Control (journeyman) experience in calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting in areas such as analog and digital controls, environmental measurement, microprocessor-based instrumentation, and PLC systems.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception. Use blueprints to troubleshoot, calibrate and test and replace transmitters. Identify color of wires, troubleshoot computers. Pneumatic control troubleshooting.
