Companion Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Companion Animal Caretaker to join our team at New Life Asher House. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our companion animals.
Responsibilities- Provide daily care and enrichment for companion animals, including feeding, watering, medicating, exercising, and providing mental stimulation.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Implement behavior management plans and enrichment activities to promote physical and mental health.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement cohesive care plans.
- Stay current on best practices in animal welfare and maintain detailed records of behavioral observations and interventions.
- 3-5 years of experience working with companion animals, preferably in a shelter or sanctuary setting.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and agility to work in various environments and handle animals safely.
