Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, including criminal acts and threats to life and safety.
  • Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
  • Apprehend and arrest individuals for criminal activity, as necessary.
  • Complete thorough investigations and prepare reports for review and action.
  • Collaborate with community police agencies and other stakeholders to ensure effective security measures.
  • Provide armed response to imminent threats to life or safety.

Requirements

  • General Law Enforcement Certification from the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards.
  • 2+ years of experience in law enforcement or public safety, preferably with a focus on security and investigations.
  • Ability to work independently and respond calmly in complex, stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local criminal statutes and case law.
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to pass rigorous background checks and polygraph testing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to run, exert intense physical effort, and move, control, or restrain combative subjects.
  • Close and intermediate visual acuity, with ability to hear clearly and communicate effectively.
  • Spends majority of time standing or walking, with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
