Job Summary

The House Attendant is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Management Team in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of hotel floors and public areas. This includes collecting dirty linens, transporting them to the laundry area, delivering clean linens to Room Attendants, and retrieving trash throughout the hotel. The ideal candidate will have previous housekeeping experience and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to guests and colleagues alike, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens, and deliver linens and supplies to their carts.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, including removing trash, wiping down shelves and counters, and sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Clean public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public area spaces as assigned.
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping.
  • Deliver lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order, and operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services.
Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages beneficial.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
  • Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
  • Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
  • Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
