Quality Control Group Specialist Role

About the Position

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Group Specialist to support the NISC IV program. The selected candidate will be a subject matter expert in reviewing, developing, and overseeing the processing of aircraft accidents, incidents, and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review incident reports to identify potential quality control concerns and respond accordingly.
  • Review proposed changes to the National Airspace System and build safety cases to identify risk.
  • Interact with senior management and internal/external customers to foster cooperation between departments and coworkers.
  • Participate in evaluation teams to determine facility compliance with national requirements.
  • Monitor and assist District Quality Control personnel and maintain general oversight of their Quality Control Program.
  • Interface with ATC field facilities, Service Center, Headquarters, and vendors to stay abreast of current and future ATC automated systems.
  • Provide reports of progress and problems at the Service Area's field facilities.
  • Lead monthly program team meetings and participate in national and regional telcons.
  • Manage and maintain information stored in a Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN)/SharePoint site.
  • Conduct research, evaluations, studies, and present recommendations/solutions related to short and long-term program planning requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of FAA Air Traffic Controller experience in a Terminal or Enroute facility, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CEDAR.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust suitability.

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience at a level 10/11/12 Air Traffic Control facility.
  • FAA management experience.
