Job Summary:

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is a leading non-profit social service agency serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team at St. Rocco's Family Shelter in Newark, NJ.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of shelter facilities, including common areas and resident rooms.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing.
  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning materials.
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
