LocumJobsOnline is collaborating with Curative to identify a skilled Hematology and Oncology MD for locum coverage. This role is based in a community-focused cancer treatment center.
Compensation Details
The hourly rate ranges from $450 to $475.
Role Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist, providing comprehensive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The typical patient load is approximately 15 patients daily, with optional bone marrow biopsies.
Work Schedule
The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, with call responsibilities of one weekend per month, primarily through phone consultations.
Key Requirements
- Licensure: Will accommodate for licensure.
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and BLS are mandatory.
- Facility Details: The center features 18 chemotherapy infusion chairs and 2 non-chemotherapy infusion chairs.
- Support Staff: Includes RNs, MAs, and APPs, with 2 NPs in their initial year of practice.
- Charting System: Utilizes Cerner EMR.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 15 patients per day.
- Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies are preferred but not required.
- Credentialing Duration: Approximately 60 days.
Additional Insights
The department comprises 2 MDs and 3 NPs, with radiation oncology services available on-site. The physician will engage with both outpatient and hospitalized patients, and the ideal candidate should be open to ongoing coverage and outreach to nearby clinics.
