As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Air Methods' policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Flight Operations: Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, completing pre-flight checks and verifying the aircraft's airworthiness.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with FAR, AIM, and Air Methods' policies and procedures, maintaining a thorough knowledge of these regulations and guidelines.
- Communication and Teamwork: Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public, fostering a friendly and professional working environment.
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications and Licenses: Instrument rating, fixed-wing multi-engine rating, commercial single-engine land rating, and a First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
- Flight Experience: 2000 total flight hours, with a minimum of 1500 flight hours in category, 1000 hours of rotor wing turbine, and 200 hours of cross-country flight time.
