Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Regularly reassess the effectiveness of treatment plans, actively participate in staffing meetings, and conduct family conferences to ensure open communication and progress updates.
  • Perform discharge evaluations, provide recommendations for home and community safety modifications, and offer referral and educational resources to support patients and their families.
  • Effectively communicate patient needs, progress, and concerns to the treatment team, physicians, patients, and family members.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist in the state where practicing.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Physical capabilities include moving, lifting, or transferring patients which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently throughout the workday.
