Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Preferred Virginia State Inspector certification
  • Conducts thorough vehicle assessments, diagnostics, and evaluations to identify necessary repairs
  • Expertly identifies issues and executes repairs, including but not limited to engine repairs, mechanical and electrical system fixes, and component replacements
  • Inspects assigned vehicles to ascertain if additional safety or service work is warranted
  • Confirms vehicle functionality and guarantees quality repairs on the first attempt through test drives and necessary adjustments
  • Maintains cleanliness of customer vehicles throughout the repair process
  • Communicates effectively with Service Advisors and/or Dispatchers regarding any additional work requirements
  • Assists Service Writers as needed in creating work orders, performing test drives, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Keeps a tidy and organized workspace
  • Records all work performed and recommendations on repair orders in line with operational protocols
  • Upholds a professional appearance in accordance with company standards
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Positive demeanor and a commitment to customer service
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic
  • ASE Certifications are preferred, or a plan to obtain them
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various makes and models of vehicles
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes
  • Professional appearance and strong communication skills
  • Aspirations for long-term career growth

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move items exceeding 100 pounds
  • Capable of working with tools on vehicles elevated above head height
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as required by vehicle repairs
  • Dexterity to efficiently utilize hand tools
  • Ability to walk or stand for the majority of the workday
  • Competence in driving manual transmission vehicles
  • Proficient in navigating computer systems
