Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Health System. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic sonographic and interventional procedures in our department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic sonographic and interventional procedures under the general supervision of the Chief Imaging Technologist and with the assistance of a Physician or a Senior Sonographer.
  • Select appropriate equipment and protocol required for patient's exam considering patient's age and development and study requested according to established guidelines.
  • Maneuver patient into optimal position(s) according to established guidelines.
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy by obtaining complete series of diagnostic, quality images within an agreed upon time frame per protocol.
  • Provide interpreting physician with completed study and preliminary findings.
  • Adhere to new and/or revised aseptic technique procedures and protocols.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance for basic invasive procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent including successful completion of an approved curriculum in diagnostic sonography.
  • RDMS (AB, OB/GYN) is required.
  • CPR BLS certification required.
  • At least one year of ultrasound experience is required.
  • Vascular experience is preferred - performing liver duplex, lower and upper extremity venous and transplant imaging.
