Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for implementing and executing HR policies and procedures. This role will assist the Divisional HR Manager in creating and leading onsite HR programs, assessing employee needs, and engaging all employees and managers in new and existing programs to increase employee retention, engagement, and development.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Divisional HR Manager in administering HR policy, procedure, and programs.
- Develop and execute project plans/timelines and manage expenses to budget. Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of programs and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Serve as the onsite subject matter expert for all HR processes and compliance. Oversees execution of processes, training of staff, and ensures compliance.
- Partners with managers and employees to resolve high-risk or highly sensitive employee relations issues and investigations.
- Provides support for Plant HR Managers at the direction of the Divisional HR Manager.
- Assists with the development and execution of HR policies and practices in the division.
- Provides leadership and support for all WRMG associates.
- Communicates guidelines, processes, procedures, plans, and policy.
- Remains informed of changing statutes and regulatory impacts on policies and procedures within the state of operation as well as keeping up with federal changes that may impact the company or the associates.
- Champions the company culture. Drives the open-door environment.
- Provides coaching and counseling to managers in opportunities to increase employee engagement, commitment, and capability.
- Coordinates the performance management program.
- Tracks record of establishing good alliances with all levels of management while retaining a rational independence.
- Develops strong relationships with the ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively.
- Maintains strict confidence with all sensitive and confidential information.
- Behaves honestly and ethically in all matters, at all times.
- Works with HRMs and Associates to resolve associate issues.
- Investigates complaints at the direction of the Divisional HR Manager.
- Facilitates training for all levels in the Plants and conducts training as needed.
- Ensures consistency and fairness.
- Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning, and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related degree preferred.
- Certificate(s) or License(s): SHRM SPHR certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience: 4-6+ years of experience, 2 or more years in an HR position or the equivalent experience required.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
- Experience with project management preferred.
- Extensive communication (written and verbal), mediation (conflict resolution), and facilitation skills.
- Visionary with long-term focus - able to see the result.
- Self-starter: demonstrates personal initiative and willingly assumes responsibility and ownership.
- Ability to build a motivated, positive, trust-based team and strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to create an open environment supportive of free sharing of information and ideas that is also conducive to contribution, growth, and achievement.

- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
- Ability to travel as needed, up to 20% of the time.

- Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
