The Position: Aveda Barber Instructor
Are you a seasoned Barber eager to impart your knowledge and skills to aspiring professionals entering our field? At Douglas J, we seek licensed Barbers who can motivate and educate our students during both daytime and evening sessions. If you are not yet a licensed Instructor, this role offers paid training and fulfills state requirements to achieve licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver assigned classes under the mentorship of the Education Coach & Program Team Lead
- Assist students in reaching their full potential in mastering course material
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in your teaching area
- Uphold professional conduct and ethical standards suitable for the role
- Evaluate and return student assignments promptly
- Instruct students on effective sanitation practices and supervise cleanliness throughout the day
- Manage classroom dynamics; ensure adherence to school policies and regulations
- Exhibit problem-solving skills to address classroom management challenges
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Barber
- Possession of a valid State of Michigan Barber license
- Familiarity with Aveda products/services/curriculum is advantageous, though not mandatory
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to hold peers accountable
- Capacity to excel in a dynamic, professional educational environment
