Environmental Remediation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our Remediation and Radiological Assessment Unit within the Department of Natural Resources. As an Environmental Remediation Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing high-profile projects and providing state oversight of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) cleanups at radiologically contaminated sites and other federal facility sites in the state.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate CERCLA cleanups at radiologically contaminated sites and other federal facility sites in the state.
- Provide state oversight and technical guidance to ensure compliance with CERCLA regulations and state laws.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including federal agencies, local governments, and private sector entities, to develop and implement effective cleanup strategies.
- Conduct site assessments and investigations to identify contamination sources and develop remediation plans.
- Monitor and report on cleanup progress, including tracking costs, schedules, and environmental impacts.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental remediation, with a focus on CERCLA cleanups and radiological assessment.
- Strong knowledge of CERCLA regulations and state laws related to environmental remediation.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
